Interesting Facts About Golf Carts

Over the years, new technology and interesting design have offered newer and more advanced models of golf carts every year. Expanding to include golf carts with 4-wheel drive and utility tires, new golf cart utility vehicles have been created. They are made to run on all types of terrain, from movie sets to warehouses and gardening centres.


Golf carts have become useful in all sorts of places and all sorts of ways, from golf courses  to  retirement homes , There is continuous development and improvement of the product, the history of the golf cart is long and interesting.


At first they were originally designed for disabled golfers, golf carts were introduced for the first time in the 1940's. In the early 50's they had gripped the entire retirement community as well as the golf courses.


Mass Production Started in 1951, the first golf carts were readily available because of mass production. These first electric golf cart made history by becoming the first electric car that private consumers could buy. This allowed whole communities, schools and cities, to share in the efficiency of the golf car as a whole.


Gas vs. electric  although most people prefer the electric golf cart, gas, has certain advantages. Electric golf carts are ideal for playing golf or cruising around near the house, but when they have no more power than you may not be near a place to recharge. When going further away from home, a golf cart with a gas engine is much more logical as you can bring additional gas with you and fill up whenever you want.


Inspiring new designs, Golf Carts it's believed, led to  other small transport devices, such as indoor power scooters and NEVs (neighborhood electric vehicles). Slow speed,  affordability and ease of maintenance of golf carts make them very popular, and who is it that wouldn't want to play off this idea?


Small town communities really caught on to the golf cart. One of the earliest was the town called The villages in Florida, which had a large retirement community and a very large golf cart trail path system. The golf cart is very practical in the retirement community, because it is a safe and effective way for older people to become independent and get around.

Another town excited by the golf cart was Peach Tree City, Florida, where golf carts are an important form of transport for old and young. Local high school students even have a golf cart parking lot.
