Use A Better Golf Ball To Improve Your Handicap

There are many ideas about how to reduce your golf handicap. But the quickest and least expensive for some golfers is using the longest distance golf balls. But note that legal USGA golf balls have a maximum distance of 278 yards under controlled test conditions.

It is obvious that modern technology,  can already provide golf balls that may go much farther than the USGA distance limit. This explains why most of the best golf balls so easily go to 255 yards - the farthest Noodle +, traveled 259 yards. The shortest ball, Nike One Platinum, traveled 240 yards - sacrificing distance for control and precision.

Question should  you use the Noodle + or Platinum? If you're into course  management, you should probably use a ball such as a Platinum. As an amateur, you probably will not get more than one or two extra yards with the noodle +. But the increased accuracy and control of a Platinum could probably save you a lot of strokes on the short game. Consider the statistics on which clubs are used in a normal game of golf  - 30% to 40% puts, 10% to 20% driver, 15% to 20% wedges.

CNN's Golf Labs actually tested, 54 golf balls from the top 12 producers. They used a machine to perform a normal golf ball swing speed of amateur golfers with perfect golf swing mechanics. The lab has discovered that the best models of golf ball produced by any of these 12 companies have very similar performance. Their greatest distance, roll-plus flight, inclusive were all within 10 yards of each other. The biggest difference is in relation to the control of the ball. The ball with the shortest distance, the Nike One Platinum, is used by Tiger Woods, because it gives hlm maximum control. This ball, gets the maximum control and precision in his short game, which allows him to win his many titles.

FYI, here is a list of 12 golf ball manufacturers, in no particular order:
Titleist, Top, hBridgestone, Regulatory, Callaway, Top-Flite, Nike, Srixon, TaylorMade, Noodles, Volvik, Wilson.

The problem with using one of the top golf balls is the high price. At the time of writing, a quick search on Amazon shows a dozen balls that cost at least  £19. Many of them actually cost more - about £25. Wilson's staff fifty  going to 250 yards, costs £15. I shudder at the thought of losing balls in the rough or water.

On the other hand, there is nothing that prevents you from buying used golf balls. Modern golf balls are extremely durable and can  be used for many games. You can even find them on Amazon - Titleist NXT Tour, which travels 254 yards, on sale at £37 for 36 balls. that's about £12 per dozen balls. For a little more risk, you can get even better deals on Ebay. With these recycled long distance golf balls  you will be able to get lots of practice to improve your golf swing techniques.

It 'clear that many companies produce  long distance golf balls. Each of these golf balls are good, but expensive. You can get good deals on used balls still in good condition, and these certainly help to reduce your handicap in golf. You need to experiment with different balls, to find out whether it is worth it to compromise a few yards for better accuracy.
